Ian Gower

Ian has been involved in all aspects of the theatre from an early age, it was as a young follow spot operator that he got the bug for the stage. As a keyboard, bass player and songwriter most of his writing and playing experience has come from playing in bands - both cover versions and original material. In recent years writing and adaptation for the theatre has become a large part of his life and he has been fortunate enough to work with some of the greats of British comedy while adapting the first ever Stage Play of "Dad's Army" (now published by French's) by kind permission of Jimmy Perry and David Croft, since then, with the help and support of colleague Paul Carpenter he has adapted a second "Dad's Army - The Lost Episodes" and a new stage play of "It Ain't Half Hot Mum" which had it's premiere in July 2005.

2006 saw Ian adapting and directing yet another great British comedy to the stage "Porridge"By Dick Clement and Ian la Frenais and in 2007 he returned to Perry and Croft material with a brand new version of "Hi-De-Hi!"

As an actor he loves to play the villain, particular favourites are Bill Sykes from "Oliver!" and Abanazar in "Aladdin"

Noah is the first of two major musicals written together with Rob Alderton, the other being "The Amuse-ical Tales of Robin Hood" which premiered in September 2006 with an irreverent look at one of England's most famous folk heroes.

Ian very much hopes you enjoy the "Noah and Robin Experience", for those that do Ian and Rob have many other projects in the pipeline.

Rob Alderton

Rob’s whole life is Musical Theatre. He is involved in just about every aspect of it from the creative to the technical. His first paid job as Musical Director was at the tender age of fourteen! Since then he’s clocked up nearly 200 productions, which have taken him to the West End and beyond. With scholarship to music school aged 11 and a degree in Performing Arts/Music, there was never any doubt his career would be in music. Rob’s skill on the piano has lead to him performing with many stars of stage, television and music including Sir Cliff Richard, Freddie Starr, and in musicals like Les Misérables. In addition to piano, he also plays accordion, bass, drums and guitar.
As a member of the band Sailor (makers of hits like Girls Girls Girls and A Glass Of Champagne), Rob performs all over Europe to crowds in the tens of thousands. Sailor’s latest album, Buried Treasure, includes one of Rob’s compositions Harbour Bar Bell.
He has recently reduced his conducting and performing commitments to concentrate on writing, and Fast Food and Noah (in collaboration with Ian Gower) are his first full scale musicals, but look out for more in the future!
Rob also owns and runs Crescendo, a theatre sound company dedicated to providing semi-pro and amateur theatre companies with specialized theatre and concert sound systems, recording and sound design.
